MESSAGE FROM THE DISTRICT GOVERNOR
My Fellow Lions
A number of the Lions of District 14-F took the short trip down I79 to Cranberry Township last weekend to attend our State Lions Club Convention. Here are some of the stats for that convention. There were 617 Lions in attendance including our International President Sid Scruggs. Out of 617 Lions 302 were certified to vote and 446 Lions attended the State Banquet on Saturday evening.
At the banquet the keynote speaker was IP Sid Scruggs. I wish you all could have attended the banquet to hear IP Sid speak. Many of you have heard me speak of his year of service. To listen to him “talk the talk” was electrifying. To listen to him speak you know that he also “walks the walk”. One of the things we learned that evening is that his year of service will carry over next year into IP Elect Tam’s plan. As I have said in the past this is the best approach to Lionism that I have been involved with in the near past.
Other good news I have to share with you from the convention is the fact that DG Elect Jim Day, 1st VDG Elect Bob Blake and 2nd VDG Elect Tom Owen were all elected to their positions at the convention.
You will have a great management team at the helm next year.
The international Conventions have been finalized for the next six years;
2012 Busan South Korea,
2013 Hamburg Germany,
2014 Toronto Canada,
2015 Honolulu Hawaii USA,
2016 Fukuoka Japan, and our centennial celebration in
2017 Chicago, Illinois, USA.
I finally want to take a moment to personally thank all the members of Lions District 14-F for allowing me to be their District Governor this year. It has been an honor and pleasure to serve you this year.
Does your Lions Club sponsor a health fair or health related activity?
The Titusville Lions Club recently purchased a Pulseair EasyEye Non-contact Tonometer.
This machine is used to screen adults for glaucoma. Because it requires trained operators, and we are training more, we cannot offer it for use in every health fair offered by hospitals in District 14-F. But if your Lions Club is sponsoring a health screening for adults we want to offer the use of the machine (and operator.) As Lions you know the seriousness of glaucoma and the potential result in blindness.

We will publish your activities.
Please send copy of what you would like to appear well in advance of your golf outing, pancake breakfast, raffle, etc.
If possible, a WORD document will work the best. Photographs with captions are always welcome.
